When one of our brewers, Cheyne, (pronounced Shane,) goes on vacation a couple of times within a month or so, Dave, Tom and Steve get together to brew in his absence. This IPA is brewed with a hefty amount of Spelt and gets drilled with an even heftier amount of Mandarina Bavaria, H. Blanc and Galaxy hops.

16oz. can served in my Spiegelau IPA glass. Pours a hazy orange hue with a loose, half inch, off-white head that settles into a consistent soapy slick. Swaths and bands of lacing are revealed as the brew recedes. Great nose - bursts of tropical fruit, tangerines and pith. Taste consistent with nose; however tropical fruit notes that were prominent in the nose are muddled with the tangerine and pith (not in a bad way). Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a pleasant, even carbonation. Wow, what a great beer! Everything coalesces nicely and it goes down smooth. Hope this isn't a one and done. Would love more of this.

L - like a beautiful New England IPA, more towards yellow than orange, head faded a little too quickly for me.
S - very fruity, very reminiscent of Julius when the can is first opened, which was quite exciting. Aroma doesn't have staying power at all though and as it sits, I get a little of that green onion smell I associate with mosaic hops - and this has no mosaic. It has H. Blanc, Mandarina Bavarian and Galaxy hops. Don't believe I've ever had the first two.
F - my only criticism is that this is a bit under carbonated and thin. I know Proc can get this right, though
T & overall- this might be my favorite Proclamation IPA ever, which is really saying something. Wish I wasn't crap at reviewing taste! All the typical superlatives apply - juicy, hazy hop bomb with no bitterness whatsoever. You'll have to try it for yourself. This is pretty close to the best rated New England IPAs I've tried. This needs to go into their regular rotation:this is a first release. For it to be this good already is amazing. I'm excited to think what a little fine tuning will do.
