Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a hazy orange gold color with 2 fingers of fluffy off-white head. The head leaves a crown of sticky cobweb lacing before settling into a thick ring of foam.
The aroma is loaded with citrus: Grapefruit, lemon zest, lime, and orange peel up front. The back end is earthy and piney, with a touch of bready malt.
The flavor is a nice balance of citrus and tropical fruits, with a solid malt backbone. Lots of grapefruit and oranges, with some lime and pineapples. Finishes piney with just enough sweetness from the malt to balance things out.
The feel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Goes down smooth with a nice hop bite. A touch on the oily side.
Overall, a great DIPA that is very well-balanced with plenty of malt presence. Definitely an easy drinking beer for the ABV.
