Appearance: A bubble show builds to three fingers over the hazy goldenstraw colored liquid; strong retention and splashy lacing

Smell: Melon, pineapple and berry aromatics with a hint of pith

Taste: Melon and berry forward with overripe pineapple developing; lemon/lime pith, in the middle, with a moderately bitter finish; a bit of a metallic edge in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate to high carbonation

Overall: But for the unusual aftertaste, a perfectly good DIPA

Thanks, Rug, for the opportunity

Pours an opaque pale orange with two fingers of white foam. Head retention is good. Aroma is papaya, tangerine, mango, orange zest and black cherry. Lovely tropical fruit display up front. Flavor profile is mango, tangerine, guava, grapefruit, orange and a hint of black cherry. It has huge tropical fruit notes with that being it. Mouth feel is pillowy and soft with a medium-thick consistency. Overall, sublime tropical fruit notes with a pillowy soft texture keep this drinking smooth and easy. Much easier than the ABV would suggest.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 16oz can.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours an opaque golden orange color with 2 fingers of off-white head. The head hangs around for a while, leaving some beautiful cobweb lacing before ultimately settling into a thick blanket of foam.

The aroma brings notes of fresh melon, pineapple, lemon meringue and guava. There's some subtle notes of lime zest and earthy pine with a doughy, biscuity malt backbone.

The flavor follows the nose. Lots of pineapple and melons with notes of lemon-lime, guava, and earthy pine. Has a sweet, doughy malt presence in the back like the Pillsbury Doughboy getting plowed in prison.

The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Relatively soft and creamy with a smooth finish. Has some booze presence but not much.

Overall, a great DIPA that is extremely tropical and full of hoppy, fruity goodness. Nicely balanced and frighteningly drinkable.
