16oz can from Tavour. Hazy straw colored body with thin fluffy head. Faint fruity aroma, combo of citrus and tropical. Taste features more bready Malts, light fruity notes, grassy, floral too. Pretty subdued throughout, tasty.

A: Hazy gold with rich white foamy head and thick lacing.
N: Lots of tropical notes, mango and peach with some lemon and orange.
T: Tropical hit with some citrus, has a chalky feel to it, some grapefruit and resin notes.
M: Chalky tacky feel that coats the tongue, light bitterness.
O: A nice beer just a little chewy on the feel.

Ooh, a mystery hopped beer. How tantalizing. Proclamation has done a bunch of Derivatives at this point, and they've even done a dual-hopped one (Citralaxy), which I absolutely loved. This one is a triple-hopped version, though none of the three hops are advertised on the can or on their website. Kind of like those old mystery-flavored Air Heads candies or Dum-Dum pops. Kinda fun stuff here. Maybe after I drink an adequate amount of this beer, I can try to guess at what they were going for? That may be the idea... let's see what we're in store for!

Just like with the Citralaxy version I reviewed about five months ago (wow, time flies, eh?), this one pours a straw-yellow color with a metric ton of haze and a retentive head of two-fingers that lasts and lasts. Excellent legs and fantastic, glass-coating lace. Can't ask for much more. This is a beautiful beer!

The nose has a lot of red and darker berry notes right upfront, leading me to believe right off the bat that this might utilize Mosaic and/or Enigma hops. Dank herbal overtones and sweaty citrusy fruits give a little bit of leeway as this warms up a bit. Kinda grassy and resinous. Candied grapefruit and orange with some light mango and sugared pineapple here and there... I don't know, but I'm going to throw out Mosaic/Centennial/Simcoe as a potential combination. However, I've known a lot of hops to defy expectations when used in certain ways, so I could be totally off-the-mark here.

The flavor profile is tasty, and quite similar to what I expected from the nose. I get a LOT of stemmy blueberry and sweet raspberry jam with some light orchard fruit (apricot/peach) and a rounding touch of tropical fruit in the finish. Some light pineapple, mango, and passion fruit notes with big-time grassiness and resin touching the far reaches of my tastebuds at the end of each sip. The malt backbone makes itself known as the beer warms, giving off a slight biscuit-y note and a touch of quickly-fading crackery graininess. More resin and grapefruit/tangelo in the finish. Feel is creamy and enjoyable with low-medium carbonation and a finish that inspires me to drink more, mostly so I can figure out what they did here. Granted, I don't think they did anything mind-blowing, but my desire to figure out the hop profile spurs further sips. I think this one is pretty good, but it doesn't stand out from the crowd at the end of the day. Like the mysteriously-flavored candies that might have inspired it, this one may be better with some definition attached. Of course, it would be fitting if you felt differently, and I urge all who come across this review looking for a recommendation for this particulat Derivative varietal to give it a good shot. If my review seems to say that this combination of hops is to your taste, then you will enjoy this!
