Canned 12/8/2020. Served in my Bruery tulip. Pours a caramel-colored hue with a loose, off-white head that quickly disperses towards the edges into a soapy band and an oily slick. Clarity is semi-translucent. Nose expresses notes of cinnamon and pecans. Taste follows nose with the addition of a sugary sweetness, as well as baking spices. Everything comes off a bit cloying with an absence of any malt character. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a carbonation shy of lively and some heat that lingers, either attributable to the cinnamon, the carbonation or both. Overall, a little raw for the style and lacking nuance. Some cellar time might do something to improve this though.

Canned 12/8/20

The base beer for this, The Floor is Barleywine, was actually the first barleywine I ever tried, and I pretty much fell in love with the style immediately. Bringing it full circle, we have this beer, a barleywine brewed with maple syrup and pecans, something that sounds like it would be great in a barleywine. Also a collab with Wright's Dairy Farm, a local staple

Pours an opaque brownish amber with a finger and a half of off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves nice lacing

I was expecting the nose to be very sweet, but just like the original it is rather subdued without much going on. I'm picking up on aromas of sugary maple syrup, molasses, a touch of tobacco, and sweet toffee

Oh god, there's the overbearing sweetness I was fearing, and it persists throughout the whole sip. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting sticky maple syrup, hot alcohol, and a touch of smoke. The swallow just lingers, bringing notes of extra sweet maple syrup, light pecan, and super sweet malt. The more I drink it the sweeter it gets

A full body pairs with very gentle carbonation, resulting in an overly sticky and sweet beer. Finishes slick and heavy

I really wanted to like this one. I really did. I love Proclamation, barleywines, and maple beers, but this just did not work in any aspects. The base beer is so much better and did not need the adjuncts
