Magnum split with @Pru
I love splurging on a magnum at Proclamation every now and then, and it’s been a while so I was overdue. This is a weird an obscure style to put in a magnum, and even weirder given a whiskey barrel and orange peel treatment. Let’s see what it’s all about
Pours a cloudy orange brown with 2 fingers of off white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
There’s a slight sharpness cutting through in the nose which I really appreciate. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon juice, brown bread, honey, orange rind, earthy whiskey, herbal hops, and pear skin
It’s falls a bit more flat in taste unfortunately, more earthy and boozy but still pretty good. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange zest, peppery hops, pear skin, honey, lemon zest, brown bread, and light brown sugar. The swallow brings notes of lemon zest, earthy whiskey, brown bread, dry oak, orange zest, peppery hops, and wheat
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp and refreshing beer. Finishes truly neutral
This is a fun big bottle to split over the night. Nothing amazing but still quite enjoyable

12oz. Pour served in a tulip. Color is a burnished orange with a creamy, 1/4 inch head that coalesces around the shoulders, leaving a thin, consistent skim across the surface. Nose expresses notes of citrus peel, light malt, a trace of fun and spirits. Taste has a tough medicinal bitterness that hits up front. The other flavors only peak out before an less assertive medicinal/herbal bitterness peaks out at the finish. Mouthfeel is light in body with mild acidity and a carbonation just shy of assertive. Overall, a little disappointed by this beer.
