Imperial Stout with Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Lactose. But the question is... how do YOU say the name of those tasty little chocolate and peanut butter candies?

Pours an effervescent chestnut/mahogany with a sliver of caramel colored head, dissipates rapidly. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Cocoa, hints of peanut butter cup
T: Dryness, cocoa, a little Baker's Chocolate & a little vanilla, some peanut hulls/woodiness too up front. Sweetness dominates as this beer warms up, some vanilla. Finishes a little dry with peanut flavor, vanilla & a touch of cacao
MF: Medium body, slight carbonation. Body thins & the carbonation picks up as this warms, some boozy warmth. The weak point for this beer
Peanut butter beers for me are a tough nut to crack. Pun intended. Most taste forced or artificial, like this one. Happy to get to try this none the less

Canned 10/10/23. “Treat yoself” stamped on the bottom of the can
I stopped into Proclamation last week mostly to pick up some beers for a BIF box, but I picked up a few beers for myself as well. This one feels fitting for the season, but prehaps it would have been best consumed on Halloween itself. Regardless, I could go for a sweeter Stout right now so I’m sure this will be great. Let’s dive right in
Pours a very dark brown with 2 fingers of creamy light tan head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is sweet but there isn’t really much peanut butter to it. I’m picking up on aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla ice cream, peanut butter candy, burnt caramel, brown sugar, raisin, and a touch of molasses
Things get a bit artificial in taste unfortunately, it’s not great but it’s not the worst. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting milk chocolate, burnt caramel, vanilla frosting, peanut butter, molasses, brown sugar, and dark bread. The swallow brings notes of milk chocolate, vanilla frosting, peanut butter, sweet cream, sticky caramel, molasses, and burnt sugar
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes neutral but very sweet
I don’t hate this one, but I can’t really say I’m a big fan of it. It would be a lot better off without the lactose
