Had this at the bar in late April, 2011. On tap only, poured into a 6 oz tasting glass.
A: medium brown in color, with light pouring in around th edges. Not much head when it came my way, but there was thing lacing that reproduced with sipping. Looks thick, and with a 23.5 original gravity I'm not sure it's still a saison.
S: very nutty, cinnamon, sweetness, citrus, and very little malt for how thick it looks.
T: lightly roasted malt, chocolate, citrus, and nuts. No hops that I can taste.
M: smooth, with almost no carbonation. I thought the point of a saison was to be refreshing after working on a farm in the summer? This mouthfeel is more like an after dinner drink.
O: not sure how to rate this beer since it doesn't appear to fit a category, but New Holland calls it a saison. It tasted a lot like the Mole Ocho but with more citrus flavor.
