Picked this up when it was released a little while back, along with the other bottles that Other Half has recently put out. Loved the bottle design and figured that the liquid inside would be just as colorful, which turned out to be the case here. Not terribly sour or funky, this beer was just a tad sour while having enough body and flavor to remain bright as this was not like other examples of the style that I've had as of late!
Nice pour to this as the beer had a cloudy, golden hue and lots of head. Nice rings of lacing were left along the back side of my teku glass as the beer had a good cloudiness to it as well. Lots of wheat, banana, clove, and sour grass were in the taste but the nose could have been a bit more representative of that. A good amount of sediment was in the bottle and the carbonation was great but the spicy, yeasty fun that I was looking for was certainly not present. Instead, this felt more like a Witbier as the body and wheat were more noticeable than anything else.
Not a lot of alcohol here and along with the bubbly and crisp, finish, ensured that everything went down pretty easily from start to finish. There was an undertone of honey through this between the underlying sweetness and smooth nature of this beer but it seemed just a bit off when it came to it's category. I'd give this another go because it was fun and just to get a better take on it. A solid brew that doubled as an introduction to this style!
