Picked this up when it was released, pleased that these two breweries (which are killing it right now!) got together on this. Additionally, this was a style that served as a welcome change from the IPA's that they tend to put out. With that being said, I enjoyed this and how bright it was as it served as a great reminder of how light, tasty, and wonderful these can be, without being full of lager yeast and grassy notes!
Nice pour to this as the beer was brassy, bright, and fairly radiant. A quiet, still head topped this off and there were a few hints of soapy rings left behind on the side of my Teku glass as I worked my way through this. Hints of grass, German hops, lager yeast, and grain in the nose with a bright taste, as to be expected! Bread, citrus juice, floral notes, and lemon in the taste as nothing dominated over the others and everything was in line. Balanced in body and light in carbonation, there was a faint slickness to the mouthfeel and a bit of grit from the oats that gave me plenty to chew on!
Only had one can here but it would be so easy to crack open another after having one of these because of the low alcoholic content. This was a great take on the style that deserves another go-around, as an alternative to the Octoberfest beers that are still floating around now. The date on the bottom was illegible but otherwise, this was a nice job by all involved!

Not a fan of the Helles style in general, save maybe Weihenstephaner at right time/place. That said, certainly a decent example, sweet but not cloying.

On tap at Beavertown Extravaganza. Aroma is bright and clean with some grains and citrusy hops. Taste has clean malt, white bread, grains and floral/grassy hops.

Light straw. Slightly grainy and malty aroma. Flavor is similar to aroma. Some hop bitterness but just enough to complement the malt and mouth feel. Good example.

Was skeptical cracking this tall boy. Whenever a brewery specializing in hoppy ales tries to take a swing at a classic European style they usually render it a mess thanks to over hopping it. But not this, this rivals Augustiner Brau's Helles Lager that they serve at their wonderful biergarten in Munich. Wonderfully fresh beer with all the right tasting notes for a helles, bitter caramel, light malt presence, hay, Pullman loaf. Terrific effort.

16oz. can into a Surly teku.
Nose contains a bit of tartness and maize. Subtle. Beer has nice balance. Clean malt body with a crisp, almost lightly tart bite. I wish this had a larger hop presence. Body is light with ample carbonation. Smooth on the palate and goes down clean and crisp.
A nice beach/BBQ beer.
