Picked this up at Other Half when it was released, finally getting around to it today. Love the thermal look of the label but the beer inside wasn't as "warm" as that would have indicated! Quite dank in taste, this was a relatively typical offering from Other Half that was a bit odd in feel but not hard to dislike and sure to please anyone (like me) who's a big fan of their stuff!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a dank apricot with plenty of lively, white held that held its own. Wonderful layers of soapy rings coated the side of my Teku glass as I worked my way through this, Lots of melon, dry cheese, cheddar, and stone fruit pith in the understated nose with all of those being present in the taste as well. Very little of the Citra could be found here as there was a faint, tangerine aftertaste and slickness to this but the other hops were more pronounced; making this somewhat different than what I was accustomed to. This was balanced nicely and fairly dry without being strong in any aspect.
That was true for the alcohol as well, though it was here. By the time I finished this off, there was a mild warming effect but it wasn't a distraction by any means. Canned on 12/1 with "BURN IT" written below it, this didn't any any hop discernible hop bitterness or burn to it. It was just enough to warm me up on this cold day, while being faintly cozy and familiar at the same time!
