This was yet another dual hop beer from Other Half that I bought, was eager to have, and ended up taking a while to get around to. Canned on 4/26/18 with "CITRO 7" written underneath it, this was pretty enjoyable as the still-new-to-me Idaho 7 meshed nicely with the more familiar Citra, with the end result being a beer that was better than the sum of it's parts!
With a pour like orange juice and just as slick, this was appealing from the moment it left the can. Plenty of head topped this off as the lacing was in the form of soapy rings the bled down to the ones below. Orange juice, Hawaiian Punch, and exotic berry filled the subdued nose as the taste was just as enjoyable. Lots of juice held my attention as this left me wanting more, since I wasn't used to the herbal and outdoorsy undertone and aftertaste that felt like a deep forest. A balanced body and light, but lively, carbonation, kept this fresh as there were hints of hibiscus and potpourri once the liquid went down.
This had enough booze to it and I could feel a warming effect take hold of me as I sipped this. That complemented the floral and exotic nature of this beer quite nicely but the alcohol could have faded quicker once I was ready to crack my next can open. I enjoyed this but would only want one per sitting, along with a chaser of water to wash everything afterwards!

Pale-medium gold body, totally opaque like juice, with a coupla fingers of white foam on top... The Citra hop is an easy sell, and a known entity, but this here combination makes a strong case for the merits of Idaho 7... Very compelling profile, with tropical fruit impressions like papaya and guava, and a distinct black tea element, and a subtler suggestion of pine resin... Throw in some citrusy high points of orange and you've got a brew that got my attention... Typically smooth and soft, medium-full bodied and plush... 4/26/18 canning...

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours with a super hazy orange hue to it, with a small head and lots of lacing.
This smells like mango, strawberry, grapefruit, and pine.
Idaho 7 hops are really fun and unique, and they work with a more "traditional" juice bomb hop like Citra. I get lots of orange, grapefruit and mango, and a definite strawberry sort of flavor, and a clean piney finish.
This is light bodied, crisp and clean- it doesn't drink at all like 8.5%.
This is a pretty inspired hop combo- I hope to see it done again.
