Brewed in collaboration with KCBC, this was another beer obtained at Other Half that I took a while to get around to. This didn't look, taste, or feel like an American Lager as it was much more cloudy, full, and contained more hops than what I expected. No, it wasn't fresh and could have held up a bit better, but this wasn't a bad brew after all of this time!
Canned on 6/11/18 with "CROWD SURFING" written below it, this poured a hazy gold with lots of sediment in the liquid although there was hardly at the bottom of my glass once I finished this off. Citrus, sweetness, and corn in the nose as the combination was a bit odd but somehow worked as the taste had hints of a Macro Lager to it. Maybe it was the grass, or the yeast, but at least there was enough slickness and moderate burn to counter those as this was quite full on the palate. A relatively clean and dry finish kept this from weighing me down too much.
Enough booze was in this compared to a typical American Lager but then again, there wasn't a lot that was typical about this. Hints of both breweries could be found in this beer's taste as I'm glad that two of my favorite brewers in Brooklyn got together for this one. This had enough grass and clarity to be a Lager at heart but I liked the take on it. Still would love to see these two get together again!

Same, But Different - Other Half
Imperial Hoppy Pilsner - 7.5% abv
Canned 6/11/18 (14 days ago)
L - 1-finger fizzy head atop a translucent orange body. Looks like an ipa.
S - citrus, pine, a little grass, a little sweetness. Smells like an ipa.
T - citrus, corn, and grassy hops. Caramel malt is prevalent and adds sweetness. Middle is very clean. Finishes dry. Moderate-low sweetness. Low bitterness. Medium-low booziness.
F - medium-light body with above average carb.
O - I don’t have a ton of knowledge about the Imperial Pilsner style, but this is somewhat refreshing on a 90 degree day. Non-imperial would have been preferable though.
