Lingonpäron Berliner Weisse with Pear and Lingonberry (5.0%) with the awesome folks from Helsingborg, Sweden, BREWSKI. This berliner is meant to pay homage to the Swedish dessert by the same name that is pears soaked in lingonberry.

I had to look up what a lingonberry was as I've never had one before and wasn't familiar with it. Not quite as tart as it's American counterpart, it could be felt here as this was a light and subtly slick Berliner Weisse that continued the trend that I've been on lately. Once again, this wasn't a typical take on that style but this one was light in alcohol and had just enough carbonation in it to stay true to form.
The pour to this was decent as this beer had a white grape / champagne hue to it with a nice amount of light seeping through. Very little head topped it off and there wasn't any lacing to be seen as the thin and wavy rings of suds slid down the side of my pint glass after every sip. Pear, white grape, and lingonberry were in the nose as there was a lot of grape seed, dry fruit, and more berry in the taste. Slightly tart, quite dry, and a bit like champagne, this went down so easily with hints of light wood and vine in the taste that emerged a bit more as this warmed up. A subtle and lively carbonation complemented the taste nicely as the lingonberry was exotic, but easy to get accustomed to since it fit in well with everything else here.
Not a lot of booze to this as it almost felt like a soda or sparkling drink as much it was a beer. Nothing was written on the bottom of the can and nothing was at the the bottom of the liquid as there wasn't any sediment to be seen. This was probably the most "typical" Berliner Weisse that I've had from Other Half as it wasn't overly strong or experimental like the others were. If you can handle the anomalous taste of this beer, it would be worth your while as it was quite fun and easy to kick back with!

Served at the Other Half Brewery in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY.
A: Pours a very slightly hazy, pink color with an orange tint, resembling nothing so much as a rose wine, with a white, frothy, but very transient head and little or no lacing.
S: Tangy, with perry, berry, and grain aromas. A lactose note.
T: Tart and dry. Flavors of pears and berries evident. Grainy with a touch of lacto-funk. Little or no bitterness.
M: Light bodied with low to medium carbonation. Relatively crisp finish.
O: An interesting choice of fruits for a Berliner Weiss, evidently associated with a Swedish dessert. Very drinkable and very consistent with the style.

Thank you CanConPhilly for this
16 oz can, dated 6/19/18, poured into a teku
A- A clear pinkish orange with a two finger light pink head.
S- Tart, pears, lingonberries, some strawberries, touch of lacto, some wheat.
T- Tart, pears, wheat, some lingonberries, some lacto in the finish.
M- Smooth, crisp, light body.
O- A very nice fruited Berliner, easy to drink. Much more along the lines of a traditional Berliner than some of the newer super fruit bomb kettle soured beers out there.
