Collaboration with Foam Brewers

Our friends from Vermont came to Brooklyn and brewed a delicious beer with us containing Pilsner malt, wheat and oats. We then hopped it aggressively with Galaxy and our hand selected Nelson Sauvin. We also swapped labels with Foam. We used their template and designers for this awesome label dropping in BK while we designed the label used in Burlington for our collab there that dropped last month, Made Up Dream.

16 oz. can. Hazy orange. Smells of tropical fruits, light herbals, some lemon, and booze. Tastes of garlic and earthy hops with a little bit of sweet tropical fruit. Faint sweet orange. Earthy finish with a lingering sweetness and alcohol flavor. Medium heavy. I smelled it and immediately thought of sitting at Foam Brewers. It's got their IPA profile for sure. That was pleasing at first, but then I remembered what I don't like about Foam IPAs, as this has a hefty booze and sugar component.

16oz undated can.

Pours cloudy gold with an inch of white fluff. Nice retention with spongy lacing. Melons and pear in the nose with a hint of sherbet. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Juicy tropicals on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Pear, honeydew, and cantaloupe. Finishes fairly dry with lingering tropicals.

Can from Jeff, thanks again.
Lightly hazy lemon yellow with a decent sized frothy white head. Earthy lemon and pith citrus with hints of tropical fruit and sweet bready maltiness.

Picked this beer up at Other Half last year and was surprised to see that this didn't look like their normal labels. Of course, it was in the style of Foam's and the beer was something straight out of New England because of how it poured, looked when held up to the light, and how it tasted - although it was much fuller than a typical beer of this style because of the strong presence of oats.

Cloudy with a bright straw hue, there was plenty of head to top this off as the lacing left behind was quite layered under the rocky, bubbled ring of thickness near the top of my pint glass. Lots of oats and wheat in the nose as the aroma was quite bright and full with some dank fruit and white grape underneath that. More of those came through in the taste as this beer was quite dry as the dankness emerged a bit more as this warmed up. Somewhat slick and balanced, a strong vegetable feel came through as I was finishing this off. The wheat cut that a bit as the carbonation and sweetness were kept to a minimum.

The same could be said for the booze, which was here but quite hard to detect. Canned on 3/8/19 with "OUT TO THE SALTY SEA' written underneath that, this was a decent beer that wasn't quite like what I was accustomed to from these guys, nor as highly rated in my book. Fun to drink once but having another would be tough as it was quite filling!
