It's not often that I see Other Half take on this style, let alone during a collaboration. Yes, I know that this isn't what Other Half is usually known for but this wasn't a bad beer that was a decent take on a Berliner Weisse. Just a bit too artificial and chalky, this almost felt more like a mass-produced soda than a malted barley beverage but that wasn't enough to make me dislike this...
The look to this was a waxy, golden hue as there was hardly any head to be seen an even less lacing left behind as I worked my way through this. Tons of tangerine, orange tang, artificial sweetness, and high fructose corn syrup in the taste as the taste had just a mass-produced and soda-like feel to it. A bit of sweet-and-sour feel was inherent in this, as if this beer was a Gose, although it was a Berliner Weisse at heart because of the basic, crackery malt as well as it's stronger alcoholic presence. Lively carbonated, it felt as much as soda as a beer with the orange being sugary and it's overall feel that of something mass produced...
Yeah, there was enough booze to be had here as I can't ever say that I've had a brew of this type that was this strong. Canned on 4/5/19 with "AVO TOAST" written underneath it, this may have been targeted to the hipster demographic but in the end, this left a lot to be desired. More of a novelty than anything else, this was not a breakfast beer a Berliner Weisse, or a true Other Half classic at heart. Only have it once to take a break from heavier, and better, offerings!

Pours a clouded, brighter golden color with a small head, which disappears immediately after pouring.
Smells is surprisingly muted, with a note of tart lemons and unripe oranges coming to light among a lighter saltiness.
Has a lighter, sticky mouthfeel with an initial aqueous softness, which turns pungently effervescent during its finish, revealing lots and lots of sugars.
Tastes like fanta, inheriting a lighter tartness, which becomes apparent during the beer‘s finish. Apart from that, the beer is pretty disappointing since there is no real taste evolution on the palate, nor is it close to being thirst quenching as a real Berliner Weisse should be. It has got an unpleasant ongoing artificial sweetness to it, which dominates the flavors throughout with an initial jammy peak.
If you like soda pops, this one is for you.
