Inspired by our recent trip to Australia to visit our Australian hops providers and subsequent kangaroo sighting we bring you this pils, wheat, and oat based Imperial IPA hopped with Galaxy, Vic Secret, and Enigma, our three main Australian hops.

Good Imperial IPA. A fruit bomb but with good bitterness too!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer featured a bright, fruity aspect of tropical fruit, tangerine and a little pine. There was some bitterness here too, including wheat bitterness that reminded me a bit of a Hefeweizen. Appearance included a hazy yellow color, a medium sized foamy white head and lots of lacing - a thick band on top and lots of closely spaced thin bands of lacing up and down the glass. mouthfeel was juicy and moderately bitter. In all, very enjoyable.

Once again, this was a beer from Other Half that I bought there and took a while to get around to. I love the kangaroos on the label but more importantly, they were a fun indicator of the Australian-themed beer that was inside of this can. Yes, the taste was a bit exotic and took a bit of getting used to but this was a fun beer that had a new taste to it that I quickly warmed up to!
The pour to this was muted, golden, and somewhat bright as it was indicative of all of the oats and wheat that this contained. Enough head topped this off as the lacing left behind was quite extensive, starting with the thick ring near the top with a ton of thinner, but well-defined, rings below that. Loads of oats, wheat, and Pilsner Malt in the nose as this was quite bright with some cracker and urine underneath that. The taste was just as earthy, funky, and grainy underneath as this was quite slick and lively for having so much body to it. White chocolate, weed, and subtle tropical fruits rounded out the mouthfeel as this beer wasn't like anything I've had before and certainly unlike anything that would be brewed with ingredients strictly from North America.
There was enough booze here although it wasn't a deterrent as this felt as much a Hefeweizen with heft as it was an American Imperial IPA. When you brew the latter with ingredients from Down Under, this was the end result and the lingering taste of deep forest, swamp water, and prairie grain was enough to leave me wanting another can. Dated 5/22/19 with "SMUGGLEROO'S" written below that, this was a wondrous beer that only reinforced why I make the trek to Other Half as often as I do. Nice job all-around with this one!

A fantastic NEIPA. Pours a hazy yellow with a nice creamy off-white head. Aroma and flavors include lemon sherbet, orange creamsicle, mango gelato, and pineapple sorbet. Not too sweet. Creamy mouthfeel and the 8.3% abv is well-hidden.

L - 1.5 finger dense, bright white head atop a milky orange body.
S - citrus perfume, herb, campfire.
T - pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, smoked jackfruit. Slightly earthy middle. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. Low sweetness.
F - medium-full body with appropriate carb.
O - unusual smoky taste, but I really dig it.
