Very cloudy, dark orange tannish colors. Dank, grassy, citrusy scents and tastes. Crisp, easy sipping, light to medium bodied. Very subtle and lighter version of the style.

Look is right on the money, opaque yellow/straw with totally white head that laces the glass the whole way down. Smell is sweet, dank, grape-juice, mango. Taste is fruity hoppy, very little bitterness. Bready aftertaste which I enjoy. Very clean mouthfeel, especially for the style, really drinks light.

16oz. can into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
This one looks like pulpy orange juice. Nose is pineapple, mango, pine, citrus, and grapefruit. Juicy and sweet and very aromatic. Beer opens pineapple, lime, and citrus. Very fresh. Almost zesty. Some mango and clementine in the middle with a dank, juicy hop presence at the finish. This one's pretty delicious. Body is light to medium with moderate carbonation. Smooth and soft on the palate and goes down quenching and soft. Lingering aftertaste. Super drinkable.
This one's a winner for me. Worth trying.

--Looks like these beers should look: murky yellow and grey, but also with a nice green tinge from heavy dry hopping.
--Smells how a Nelson IPA will smell: funky green candy.
--Tastes so well balanced, with the pleasant Nelson fruit flavor saying hi and then making way for the medium-light malt to finish things off gently. Mild oats have the last word.
--Feels nicely carbonated and perfectly balanced, but it's hard for a 6.5% to follow through like a 7+ could. If the taste were longer and oilier this would be a perfect beer.
--Overall a near perfect beer. So easy and enjoyable to drink, and goes well before or after a citra/mosaic type.

I'm not the biggest Nelson fan but this beer was one that I picked up at Other Half last summer because it was a Daydream offering and I've mostly enjoyed the ones I bought from there over the years. That rounded this out and took a bit of the edge off for me, even though this beer didn't have much of it. It's just how I perceive that particular hop!
This had a muted, apricot hue with enough light coming through to give it a bit of an apricot look to it. Plenty of head topped it off and lot of rocky lacing was left behind it went from the top to about 1/3 of the way down my pint glass. A few spots lingered below that as this had a nice consistency to it. Plenty of white grape, lemon zest, wood, and funky feet in the nose as the taste had more oats, cream, and deep tangerine and citrus rind to it. Very little carbonation in the mouthfeel as this went down smoothly and the flavors were allowed to linger for the duration.
This felt stronger than it was in actuality, because of how prevalent the Nelson was. Canned on 8/19/19, there wasn't any any sediment in the liquid or left at the bottom when I finished this as it felt nice and tasted as fresh as could be. If you like that hop or Other Half's Daydream offerings, this would be a good brew to find and kick back with as it won't overwhelm any of your senses!

Poured from a 16 oz can into a teku glass.
Pours an opaque orange gold color with 3 fingers of fluffy white head. The head refuses to go away. It just sits there like an asshole. Leaves a nice crown of lacing as it slowly dissipates into a thick blanket of foam.
The aroma brings notes of grapefruit, orange, and mango, as well as some pineapple and grape must.
The flavor brings lots of pineapple and peach candy, as well as fresh mango, grapefruit, and bubblegum. Finishes with a subtle, earthy pine note.
The feel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Pillowy soft and creamy. Exceptionally dry on the finish.
Overall, this is a great IPA and a nice showcase of the Nelson hop. No one does lactose IPA's as well as Other Half.
