Pours pitch black color like a glass of soy sauce with a 1 finger thick brown head that was packed with tiny bubbles and faded rather quickly, leaving no lacing.
Smells of bourbon, vanilla, brown sugar, roasted pecans, maple syrup, burnt coffee grinds, cocoa powder, pralines and a fresh baked Southern dessert dipped in some bourbon and stout. There’s a lot of sweet elements, but the booze and nutty aspects cut through and make for a nice rich malty aroma. This is super complex and inviting.
Flavor is sweet but not too sweet, with brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, pralines, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, burnt coffee grinds, chicory, brownies, maple syrup baked pecans like a rich pecan pie, and then some booze as well as a chocolatey dessert. The aftertaste is like creme brulee or tiramisu. It’s never cloyingly sweet, it always remains very complex and flavorful. Really well done, as only hints of the 14.5% ABV come through. This was a really good collaboration brew.

Sometimes, you need a beast of a beer to take you away from everything going on in the world and if there was ever a time for a brew like that, it would be now! Picked this up at Other Half a little over six months ago and it ended up in my stash but thankfully, it held up well over time as this was one of the better examples of it's style that I've had in quite some time; although it took a while to get through!
Such a dark pour to this as poured as silky and smooth as fresh-brewed coffee with lots of slickness to it and a wonderful, offsetting mocha head that took it's time to settle down. Amazingly, there was no lacing left behind as this was quite thin as the bubbles settle down to just plain liquid. Such a southern smell to this between the pecans, pralines, fresh-baked pie, and coconut sweetness as the taste was just as filling and sweet as the aroma indicated. A chocolatey sweetness and richness tied everything in together as this was an incredibly deep, sweet, and sensual beer that was worth savoring sip by sip as a chicory and molasses feel took hold of me once this fully warmed up. The stickiness from the latter was this beer's hallmark mouthfeel as the sweetness help to smooth the rough edges out and make this more palatable, down to the last drop.
Yes, this was a beast of a beer but the flavors were enough to keep this from being too heavy or hefty as it felt like a dessert Stout more than anything else. No, I didn't grow up in the south but I love my Waffle House, Moon Pies, and pies from pecan down to key lime and if you're into anything sweet, rich, and unabashed, then you need to get a bottle of this and savor it on a night where everything else just ain't going right. Some sediment was left at the bottom of the bottle but otherwise, this was a wondrous brew with a lot going for it that showcased the best of both breweries involved in it's creation. So glad i was able to get my hands on a bottle of this!

Pours a really dark brown, nearing on pitch black. Head is nearly non-existent. Aroma is cocoa nibs, chocolate, coffee, vanilla bean and roasty, toasty malts. It's rich, with a little sweet characteristic. Flavor profile is coffee, chocolate, cocoa nibs, toffee, molasses and roasty and toasty malts. It's sweet and sticky, lingering on the palatte like a cold drizzle of molasses. Alcohol is well tamed. Mouth feel is sticky with a thick, chewy consistency. Overall, big and sticky, but not brash. Big ol' beer.

Thought this was okay. A bit thinner than I like - still solid, but I preferred the cononut bomb stout which I had together in a 4 oz taster at the brewery.
