Hard to believe, but this last Crunchee offering from Other Half was quite a stretch to be considered a Berliner Weisse. Filling, sweet, and chock full of booze, this was not something full of fruit and fizz that you would kick back with on a summer's afternoon. Thankfully, we have record cold here tonight as there wouldn't be much that I'd rather curl up with and rate than this!

Can't say that I've ever had anything that had a pour like this as it looked like banana bread and was just as murky as that sounded. Lots of bubbly, khaki head topped this off as it filled up quick and took a while to settle down, as it never quite went away. Lovely, luscious lacing lingered down the side of my pint glass as the suds easily covered a majority of it. Tons of dark sediment settled at the bottom of the liquid as this was a heavy, dark beer that looked and felt every bit the part. Loads of banana, coconut, oatmeal cookie, and marshmallow sweetness in the nose as the taste was something out of a diner cake spinning on a turntable here in New Jersey. Gooey, sugary, and sticky, this was not what I expected at all as it was a dessert beer more than anything else. If a pie had coffee in and was brewed like a German beer, this would be the result and it would be as odd as that sounded!

Yes, there's booze here and very little carbonation to take the edge off of this. The flavors were great and if you love banana, coconut, cream pie, banana bread, maple syrup, pecan pie, or anything of the sort to end a meal with, you've found your match here. Canned on 3/5 with nothing written below it, this was tough to rate because of how unique it was and how out of sync it was with it's listed style. Love the Crunchee offerings from Other Half but this one requires an open mind and plenty of time to figure out. I doubt that I'll ever have something of this sort that would describe itself as a "complete breakfast".

Pretty ugly and opaque chicken soup murk on this one. Some nice lacing.

Pretty subtle nose but the coffee came through quite a bit along with some pina colada tropical fruit.

I love the level of tartness here. It definitely shines and them to get away with calling this beer a Berliner, if you come from a more conservative school of though. The “Crunchee” aspect comes through nicely too. Lots of granola. Unfortunately, not enough banana and coconut though. Was really hoping for a lot of those flavors. Lots of coffee leaves this one tasting a lot like a tart coffee beer. Was hoping for less coffee and more of a coconut cream pie thing.

Overall 3.9
