16 oz. can. Hazy orange. Smells of citrus, tropical fruits, and lots of sweetness. Tastes of tropical fruit throughout. Sweet and juicy. Herbal and dank notes peek through in the finish. Medium heavy. Low carbonation. It's a big, sweet DIPA. I get that it's got lots of tropical fruit, but I don't think I needed more of that in my beer.

 

 

Picked this up a few weeks back at Other Half, as I missed this initial release of this the first time around. I expected this to be a dank juice bomb that these guys are well known for and of course, that's exactly what this beer turned out to be as it was easily crushable and enjoyable from the first sip to the last.

This beer was full of Citra as it was quite evident from the pour and appearance. Quietly luminous, golden in hue, and topped off with a fluffy head that had plenty of big bubbles up at the surface. Not a bad amount of lacing was left behind as there were several sections of rings that stood out in the middle of my pint glass with lots of soapy splotches in between them. Lots of tangy citrus, tangerine pith and cream, dewy grass, and turbid hops in the nose as the taste was just as juicy, floral, and surprisingly deep for a beer of this sort. The Strata and Nelson Sauvin balanced out the Citra as they ensured that this would be more dank, tropical, and nuanced like white wine barrel as those flavors fully emerged once this warmed up.

Nicely carbonated, full of weed in the back, and containing the right amount of booze, this was one of the few beers I've had lately that didn't feel stronger or weaker than it's listed ABV. With so much Citra here, this covered the full gamut of that hop while having the other two to keep this from feeling too juicy, sweet, or similar to more well-known takes on the style. Dated 4/6 on the bottom of the can, this was on par with what I've come to expect from Other Half as this would easily please any of their fans, such as myself!
