Our friends at Monkish and Trillium let us Freaky Friday one our favorite TIPAs. This one is a classic double dry-hopped IPA with Galaxy.

This was another beer that I picked up at Other Half in Brooklyn back in February as I wanted to get my hands on as much of the Anniversary release as possible. Been lucky enough to visit Monkish and Trillium, since I've had so much from them over the years via trades, and this was on par with what I've come to expect from all three breweries as it was plenty plush, tasty, and oh-so-easy to drink given the amount of booze in it!
To no one's surprise, this was hazy, golden, and subtly luminous in hue as the liquid was topped off with plenty of spongy foam. Well-defined rings of lacing remained down the side of my pint glass as the head never fully dissipated. Tons of dank, weedy Galaxy were in the nose along with some vegetables, turbid stone fruit, and sweet cream. The taste was just as dank, varied, and inviting with hints of swamp water, broccoli, lactose, and potent Galaxy rounding out the flavor profile. A bit of orange blossom, candied sugar, and minestrone soup were in the back as this turned out to be much more varied than I anticipated, even though everything meshed nicely in the end.
The body was fairly light, as was the carbonation, as the aftertaste was a bit slick but not heavy in the least. No date was to be seen on the bottom of the can even though this held up well - since there wasn't any skunk or sediment to be detected. For having one hop and three brewers, the end result was as fabulous as most anything that I've had from any of these guys over the years. No doubt this was worthy enough to be in Other Half's 10th Anniversary lineup!

Can pour; bright-ish yellow in color with a good head that left a lot of lacing. Nose and flavor are pure galaxy bombs in the best way. Finish is clean.
