Pear, lightly tart, green apple with the skin, hay, mild earthy funk, some banana and associated esters (as the beer warms), a touch of white pepper, faint smoke nearing the finish. Malts are subtly sweet, yet clean. A hint of honey in the background. This a nice crisp, clean beer. Elegantly crafted. Delicate. Refined. Body is appropriate. Carbonation is actually a little on the soft side for a saison. Carbonation is somewhat reminiscent of freshly cracked 7-Up, almost spritzy. I really enjoyed this beer. Saison is one of my top three styles. This is a good, almost great, saison. It's a little dainty for my palate. It was executed very well. I am huge funk guy. This beer's funk is more refined, which I dig, but lacks that oomph that I'm looking for. I would like a touch more smoke to really set this beer off as well. To a refined palate this is a good beer, different from the usual saison. To those new to the style it would appear a little bland.

On draft at Woodland taproom. Big, soft body, pure Saison notes in aroma and taste. There are other ingredients here, but this one let's the Saison shine. Smooth, tasty, memorable.
