Draft at taproom. While I’m sorry to see Old Boise Lager being retired, this is a welcome addition. Clear golden, soft head. Mild grainy aroma, hops kick in at the taste, but not overwhelming, just forming a nice backdrop to the tasty grains. Very faint citrus in the middle, for an overall delicious brew.

crisp, clean, bright, and easy drinking, easily the most poundable beer in their mixed twelve pack, and a very solid pilsener overall, maybe the best i have had locally here in this style so far. its light golden in color, bubbly like a soda, and has pretty good clarity, although this is a good one to crush right from the can. it has a familiar noble hop profile, saaz likely, grassy, a lime note, dried plant matter, green tea, simple, bitter too, and i like how hoppy the finish seems because of how fast the beer dries out. the malt is real fresh in here, none of the common european stale character to it, and the lager yeast is pretty minimal, only really having any flavor very late, but drying the beer out really well. incredible carbonation, this is really quenching and refreshing right from the can. this tastes and feels exactly like it should, a lighter take on the style a little bit, but a very well made beer, which they pretty much all have been from these guys. nice to see such good execution of a lager like this from these guys. looking forward to my next can of this!

Pours a little on the amber side of the spectrum with a foamy white head that recedes with little lace. Smells of light malt sweetness, earthy and floral hops, but a hint of butter has crept in. Same with the flavor, but the buttery notes are subdued. Feel is crisp enough to resemble a pilsner. Overall, this is an okay pilsner, but not nearly clean enough on any of the senses. Cheers!

Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Clear 15.25-oz. pilsner
From: Whole Foods in Boise, Idaho
Price: $9.99 for a variety 6-pack
Purchased: April 21, 2017
Consumed: April 25, 2017
Reviewed as: Czech Pilsner
Misc.: Canned on April 14, 2017
I believe this was Pilsner, not Greenbelt Pilsner. May call about it. Picked this up with five others at Whole Foods on a recent work rip to Boise and later grabbing five more at Bier:Thirty. Ended up trying it later in the night off a friend’s beer and wasn’t too fond of it. Would be surprised if it came out to a 3.25.
Poured a very light-to-straw clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass, looking like a bunch of pulp. Outstanding watery foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smell was pretty plain for the most part. Got hints of corn, grass, hay, honey, bready malts and cracker. (Smell - 3.50)
First thought on the taste was that it was a blonde, not a pilsner, but eventually tasted more like a pilsner. Got corn, white bread, earthy grass, hay, lingering pepper spices late, Czech Saaz, cracker and biscuit. (Taste - 3.50)
Light body. Thin texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish. (Feel - 3.50)
This was better than I thought it would be. I’d probably have it again. (Overall - 3.50)
