a light lager here with mango and salt, a cool idea but a little too sweet from the mango to be refreshing, even with the salt drying the finish out, and frankly its a little less refined than their best work, if this is a batch one, i assume batch two will be dialed in, this is smart but it just isnt quite there. the mango seems a little unnatural to me, not because its overly robust but because its a little more candy-like than fleshy and juicy, and it coats the palate and seems to make this a little thick. the salt is all on the finish, a cool touch and nicely dosed. the base lager to me is a little weak, i can just taste the yeast on the finish, but its awfully minimal in terms of grain and hops, and it doesnt seem as carefully done as their best lagers. to me this is also sort of missing something, maybe its a little lime, an expected flavor for this sort of thing, maybe its a little hop bitterness to crisp up the finish, i cant quite decide, but this was less complete and quenching than i was hoping it would be, not bad by any means and still plenty summery, but needs to be drier and cleaner...
