Taster at Shade City Brewfest. Golden pour, foamy white head. Aroma and taste feature a full, solid malt bill graced with a floral hoppy back end. Creamy.

latest b sides series release, they call it a polish lager, which i have never heard of before now, and to authenticate it, the beer is made with a kind of hop i had never heard of before either, lubelski, so cool! the beer is at once familiar and distinctive, and its refreshing and delicious as well. its perhaps a little more malty than many pale lager types, more flavor not more sweetness, although there is a soft honey note in it, its more about biscuity and cereal forward grain, minerals, and a bakery sort of yeast profile thats intertwined with it. there is a crispness here even with the malt structure and flavor which is key for refreshment. the hops are cool to me, herbal and sort of noble spicy for a second, but then mellower and more limey and fresh tasting, neat for a lager, sort of loral-esque to my palate, another one i love in a pale lager context. herbal a little, a saaz sort of grassy thing too, and it is bitter at the end no denying. i like how its layered and complex overall but also very drinkable. there are significant flavor contributions from each of the elements, the combination and proportions are unique, but on the whole the beer is a drinker, snappy and bright and very very tasty. ive always had a lot of respect for the ambitious lager program here, and this is to me an exclamation mark on that. one of their best new beers in awhile, not to be missed!
