Bottle from Harvest Foods. Pours out a nice dark amber, small head fades fast. Nice caramel aroma, full and sweet. Taste also features the caramel malts, sweetness with a mild bitterness at the end. Very good amber ale.

simple amber ale here, but with enough nuance for it to be identifiable, not generic even though its basic if that makes sense. the difference i think is the little bit of toasted character, this is drier than a lot of them, relying less on a caramelized richness, and instead leaning into the earthy and nutty aspects of the grain, this is bready and sort of cooked but without being so concentrated and monotone. seems like most if not all the flavor comes from the malt, the ferment is near neutral here and the hops are balancing at best, but very mild in the finish, not really a big factor for me in this one. notes of pretzel dough, breadcrusts, graham cracker, and even shelled almonds, earthy rather than sweet, but not totally bone dry either, more refreshing than many, and aided there by the high draft carbonation. well put together, tidy. still waiting to have my socks knocked off by anything from ten pin, but it seems like they make pretty reliably solid beers across most of the common styles, and they are a good addition to the boise market. seems casual and low key, not overly ambitious, but ive been enjoying them so far...

22oz bottle served in a pint glass. If dated, I'm not seeing it.

Pours a dark brownish amber with a pretty big head that sticks around for a while. Smell is mild, malty, and yeasty.

Taste is a slight nuttiness and toast. Some light caramel and a some not-quite-burnt toffee.

Mouthfeel is medium, moderate. Overall, not a bad amber, but not the best.

Served in Nonic pint glass. Poured a clean, clear dark amber color with a half-inch of dark khaki head that had pretty good retention and lacing.

The aroma was mostly sweet malts, as expected for the style, and had a low hop presence.

The flavor wasn't as sweet as the scent, but the gentle hopping balanced everything nicely.

The body was medium, and had a semi-sweet finish.

Drinkability was nice, the beer went down smoothly, cleanly, and evenly. Overall, a very solid example of the style. Sometimes, you just want a nice, basic "beer". This is it. would be a great cookout beer when you're focusing on friends and not beer. Worth a shot if you see it.

Bomber from a local c-store. Aroma is doughy malts, caramel, perfumy hops. Pours clear amber with a two finger beige head with decent retention. Tastes better than it smells, with quite a bit of malty sweetness balanced with medium-level hop bitterness. Toasty, caramelly flavors. Not too bad.

Handsome clear dark amber with a tall pile of foam in the Bitburger Lager glass. Mouthfeel is very sudsy with some malty substance. Aroma of leafy hops.

There is a pleasant hint of sweetness with every sip. The scratch hops emerge and the aftertaste is fairly bitter but well balanced. Some caramel and bread flavors. Overall this is way better than the run of the mill Amber Ales that are so resiny and bitter. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Pioneer Market in La Conner.
