At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned May 1/25. My third beer from the Perth, Ontario brewery, and second for 2025. With Gracie the cat...

Clear coppery brew under a big beige head. Lots of lace on the way down. Tasty smelling caramel malts, some grain, some hops. After that, thin malts to taste, watery in character. Nice start, so-so finish. Unoffensive, drinkable.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 13 2020 and served barely chilled.
Pours a clear copper-amber colour, generating half a finger of foamy, off white-coloured head that dissipates within ninety seconds or so. A frothy collar remains in place, with a modest amount of lace imprinted onto the glass; looks fine. The aroma leans toward the saccharine side, incorporating notes of brown sugar, toasted grains, bready malts and nuttiness, as well as a touch of earthy, herbal hops.
A mellow amber ale, with the flavours following the nose - caramelized sugars, bready malts, toasted grains and nuts come through at first, with hints of earthy, grassy, herbal hops lingering through the finish. Nutty, caramelized malt aftertaste with hints of weedy hop bitterness. Light in body, with average carbonation levels that provide a little bit of a bite; the overall texture is pretty smooth, with excellent drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.6, a B grade. Perth's Easy Amber didn't exactly blow me away, but if you're looking for a malt-forward session amber to knock back this summer, then this is a serviceable option worth looking into. I'd put it on par with local staples such as Hockley's Amber or Lake of Bays' Spark House - beers that are fine for what they are, and worth sampling if you're an amber lover, but not exactly worth going out of your way for.

Appearance: A dark clear amber that flirts with brown is what we have for a body showing thin, but steady carbonation. Poured with two fingers of head that produced a solid amount of lacing that stuck around past the half way point. Nothing to complain about, as only more lacing and more rention are the only ways to improve here.
Smell: You really can't go wrong with a strong caramel malt presence, but you can't really say it will knock your socks off if that is all you bring to the table. Warming helps bring it out further, and a start catching some brief nutty notes, but the malt her reigns supreme.
Taste: As expected, well restrained caramel malt starts us off, which is good because it doesn't come across as too sweet. If it did, it would probably cloy and fight with the mixed dose of grassy and earthy hops. Instead the two seem to get along very well, leaving one last sweet snap of toffee at the end. It's as advertised, easy as nothing throws you off of it, and amber which brings out malt.
Mouthfeel: It does come across as a little it too restrained and water, but give it's name, I'm inclined to let it slide. The carbonation is very well done, and as I said before, it's easy. This isn't a roller coaster ride, it's a smooth, easy, well executed amber ale with a mild caramel and earthy hop note that stays easy an restrained.
Drinkability: Yeah, that went down quick, and certainly could fill in as a early or late summer quaffer with how light it is. That said, there is well balanced easy going flavour that makes it easy to drink, even moreso then some lagers. It's downside, which seems to be a theme with Perth, is that it leaves you belching quite a bit.
Final Thoughts: This beer isn't breaking any new ground, but with a name like easy amber, it's not meant to. It's just a well executed Amber Ale. It's a pretty solid measuring stick, as to what a good amber ale should be. It comes across as a little bit wet, if you catch my drift, but I can't really find fault with that here. That said, I wouldn't go out of my way for it. It's a beer that has me lamenting not living close the Perth.
