16 oz can into a tulip. Hazy pale golden color with a large foamy white head. Intense apricot aroma, as advertised, flanked by cardamom and pepper. Tart apricot and lemon flavor. Very crisp and refreshing feel. Definitely sets itself apart as a wit, I'll be seeking this out again!

It's... different. It looks and smells great, lots of apricot and spice. The taste starts off well, but it gets really funky by the end. It's grown in me after about half of the can, but it just doesn't match what I'd expect out of a Belgian wit. It's certainly interesting, but not classic version of the style overall.

Unknown vintage; drank 5/30/16 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull orange/yellow rust appearance; champagne bubbles throughout.
A rough pour yielded a small white head; frothy lace.
Apricot, black pepper & sea salt notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Apricot jam flavors up front; black pepper & mild lemon bite on the finish.
Fruity but well balanced; this transcends the witbier genre while remaining simple & accessible. Nice!

12 oz can. Pours a hazy light gold with a slight white head. Aroma is fruit and spice. Taste is light apricot and spice. Overall a good representation of the style.

Had on tap at the Chicago MCA's Marisol restaurant (which had a thoughtful beer menu to pair with their food.)
Having battled Michigan Avenue traffic of Holiday shoppers and tourists, I deserved a fine brew. And got it.
White Light Looked great in a tulip, an orangey wit-cloudiness with generous tight bubbles. And I noticed for the first time that wit Smells in general -- which typically we associate with summer -- are similar to the Christmas season of spices. Tastes were refreshing in the attack, balanced in the middle and full in the finish. Mouthfeel was soft, soft, soft.
Because the very flavorful risotto dish I had was a bit salty, White Light went even better than, say, a saison.
While my rating is an outlier, I will have this again under less hungry/thirsty/joyful circumstances and adjust. I am always looking for Middle Brow (particularly Robyn) and don't find enough. I will travel anywhere in Chicagoland to find Middle Brow... although I learned not to seek it on Michigan Avenue in the holiday crush.
12/5/18 Had in the evening after skipping lunch. Very refreshing and nice. Paired well with roasted root vegetables and then OK with a spicy red sauce on pasta. Still need to do that summer pairing.
12/14/20 Still waiting for Middle Brow to make brewing their #1 activity. Nonetheless, White Light is a good recipe that will last. I've edited the above review and am satisfied and will keep count over at UnTappd.

12 oz. bottle, no bottled on date. A new one to me from Middle Brow, acquired the White Light/White Heat 4 pack at the local Binny's. This one "a Belgian-style ale brewed with apricots & spices".
Poured into a Duvel tulip snifter.
A - Pours a pale, cloudy golden yellow body, less than a finger of thin frothy white head that falls to a ring that lingers. Leaves some random scattered fluffy lacing. Adequate carbonation. Looks good.
S - Aroma is pretty soft. Minor notes of yeast funk, and some herbal spice rack notes that resemble rosemary, thyme, or cardamom. A bit of light grainy / huskiness creeps out. Not pulling any real semblance of apricot or any other fruit on the nose. Interesting, nonetheless.
T - Taste follows the nose: dry peppery yeast funk, herbal spice rack notes, & apricot fruit appears as the beer drinks on. Dry, bready, grassy, slightly grainy.
M - Feel is smooth, crisp, creamy, semi-dry / yeasty finish. Light-bodied and very easy drinking.
Overall, an average offering from Middle Brow. Comes off as more of a farmhouse ale than it does a witbier, with very vague notes of apricot showing.
