We make sour beers. This sour beer is that. But also deep with stewed berries. And jam. And rye. Brewed for the working woman in all of us. A kvass. Oslo.

Had this Kvass at Middle Brow's brewpub. The server said they have been making this for a while, using their day-old bread. (Middle Brow has great bread, which I often buy.) Since this is a recipe rendition based on what bread is left-over, it seems very close to the beer emerge077 entered and there seems no need for me to add another beer. I note that it’s name now is “House Sour 2.” But this is September and who knows what October will bring.
Middle Brow's beers are pretty and interesting. No exception for kvass. Smells are mostly bready, but there is a faint sour... like brett at work. Tastes are largely the same. It has a rough Mouthfeel, but I'm eating pizza... and wondering if that crust is also in the beer.
If you have not been to Middle Brow, go. A totally thoughtful place that uses yeast for beer and bread. That's leavening at its best !

Draft at Green Lady. A moderately sour, modern US version of Kvass.
