From a 16 fl. oz. can dated 03/16/21. Sampled May 3, 2021.

It has a typical hazy and cloudy NEIPA appearance. Yellow tone. Modest white head.

The aroma is citrus, lemon. but maybe a little soapy. The cereal grain is there and it seems to smell a tad boozy.

Medium or better mouthfeel.

It begins sweet and lemony and then the citrus notes kick in at the end. I would not call it boozy per se but there is a strong ale air to it.

Poured into a 16 oz tulip glass canned on 3/18/21. Pours a hazy orange with a finger sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.25

Aroma is tangerine, passionfruit, papaya, apricot, and grapefruit. 4

Taste follows tangerine, papaya, passionfruit, apricot, and grapefruit. 4

Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, fairly soft carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 9.3% it goes down very easy with a ton of flavor. 4

Overall this is a nice NETIPA, not much wrong but also for me no wow factor. Absolutely worth a try. 4

Can from the source via Jeff, thanks for the hookup.
Hazy murky lemon straw in color with a thin head that dissipates almost instantly. Good amount of muck in the bottom of the can came out while I poured. Lots of citrus light sweet bread. A little tart and puckering. Alcohol is pretty strong mouthfeel is gritty. I just don't get it any more.

16oz can dated 1/24/19.

Pours cloudy gold with an inch of white fluff that receded to a partial skim coat and minimal lacing. Pungently aromatic in the nose with plenty of peach, orange, and weed. Medium bodied with a crisp, tacky mouthfeel. Ripe tropical fruit dripping with honey on the palate. Peach, mandarins, and grapefruit with zero malt. Finishes with long-lingering orange and a smooth bitterness.

Pint can - dated 01/24/19 - poured into a tulip at about 46F.

Pours a very hazy burnish yellow hue, with a large finger of slightly off-white head. Head recedes relatively quickly, leaving little-to-no lacing behind.

Nose is concentrated Citra hops. Oily and aromatic grapefruit pith, lemon rind, and so much pine. Pine almost overpowers the grapefruit notes. There's also a massive dankness about it. Earthy, grassy, funky dankness. Very Citra, and lots of late dry hopping aromas.

Palate: This is a triple IPA, so there's definitely some hefty malt sweetness. The malt doesn't come across tacky or sticky. Maybe wheat? But much more suggestive of mild oats and pale malt. The sweetness hits first, and then a big wave of oily grapefruit, orange, and lemon come in. Some lesser notes of mango and ripe pineapple. Then this evolves to a more bitter, resinous, pine-like characteristic, becoming firm, oily, and slightly biting. A touch of black peppercorn. Slightly drying. The bitterness is not astringent or overbearing in any way. It's super hopped-up, and it would be foolish to think a beer this large is going to completely lack hop bitterness. It's there, but it could be A LOT more bitter, and it's not, so that's good. Not that much more bitter than your average New England DIPA. This is a fantastic display of Citra hopping in a New Endland style format, with just a little inspiration from the classic West Coast Imperial IPA.

Mouthfeel: It's not soft or pillowy, like Tree House Green or anything, and in fact, for its size, it hides it very well. It is a big beer though, and that still comes through, particularly with the residual sweetness left on the lips, and it's rather filling weight. However, the body and feel is really no different from say a 7% IPA. It's as crisp as a beer of this size can possibly be, and the thick haze does not really transfer to the feel of it. It's somewhat of an easier drinker.

Overall, this is a fine beer, and a really nice showcase of Citra. There isn't, however, anything about it that I find particularly mind blowing. I have very little to complain about, and it'd always nice to see foundation trying something new, but aside from being a neat (single hop?) offering, there's nothing crazy desirable about this. That's subjective, of course. I'mean sure that somewhere, someone tried this, and it blew their mind. I would absolutely love to see Foundation do a one-time single-hop offering of a few different varieties - particularly Mosaic. Anyone who's ever talked to me knows that the two hops that really speak to me are Nelson and Mosaic. If Foundation were to do that, then THAT would be awesome. Nevertheless, this is a good beer. Not great, but very good, and if you're a fan of Foundation, and you're a fan of Citra hops, then there should be nothing holding you back from picking this up and trying it. Shops that sell singles are your friend. I won't buy this again, but I am enjoying this can that I have.

L - love the name. Pours a dull, yellowy orange haze. Thin layer of head adds a "freshly flurried" look to this beer.

S - blueberries and dank-ass onions. Orange marmalade and lemon candy. Dried apricot as well.

T - zesty orange rind up front, then sweet, melony peach rushes in. Bright and fruity. Pineapple mango fruit juice. Mild grainy rindiness quite beautifully mixed in to add some subtle dryness and peppery bitterness.

F - fuzzy and velvety. Low carbonation but with just enough pep to stave off flatness while the viscous creaminess makes an appearance. Well done.

O - crazy how juicy this is at such a high ABV. Really smooth and enjoyable. Foundation stuff is always great, but this is excellent and impressive.

Hazy orange with a creamy finger head. Smells of citrus rind, pineapple and peach. Also has a slight mineral or flint aroma. Taste of bitter citrus rind and juice, peach, roasted pineapple, resin, and pine. Definitely on the boozy tasting side without the heat. Lingering malt sweetness and hop bitterness.

A new Foundation beer received in a beer share from a co-worker. This beer pours a dark, cloudy orange-yellow with a thick and rich looking 1-finger head, resulting in spotty lacing retention. The smell is dominated by stone fruit; apricot and peach with a mind malt sweetness and a hint of pine resin. Taste is big Citra flavor up front with a heavy dose of hop bitterness that finishes big and boozy with a bit of funk.
