(shaker pint pour at their 2nd street pub on 5 Jul 2024... reviwed from notes and recollections)

notes: like a lighter DirtWolf... hint of ginger-lime... lingering mineral(ity and) bitterness... laces like a sexy babe

recollections: I tried their spruce ale prior to this, which was a basic amber with some subtle, true sprucy undertones, but was overall pretty bland... this Lighthouse stirred my senses... for those who've had Victory's DirtWolf, I'm curious if you too would see an immediate resemblance... BA gives the abv as 4.2%, 7 Devils website a 4.4%, but I could swear it was posted as a 4.9% during my visit... much flavor packed into an apparently light, approachable concept (2341)

Had this as part of a lil mini flight back in Summer 2018. 1st substantive review of this beer on BA.

Pours a light amber color, slightly darker/maltier appearance than most session pale ales, this looks similar to SNPA. 1/3" white head. Aroma of light hops, grain. Hops seemed to be the usual PacNW pine and grapefruit rind. We're entirely predictable and consistent here, no problems at all. Would guess zero dry hopping here, you're just smelling hops from the boil.

Taste pushes just as much caramel, toasted pale malts as it does hops. The hops are relatively flavorless outside of those bitterness components of tree/rind. Mouthfeel might be boosted by a higher carbonation level for a beer this malty that is on the session side of things. I wouldn't say the beer does anything wrong, but it is yet another example of your standard PacNW brewery offering recipes from the late 90s. Thankfully they don't go all IBU wars on this one, claimed like 28 ibu, tastes more like 48.
