this tastes more like something that goes on a waffle than an ale i want to drink by the pint, straight up, but its not bad or anything, its just sweet. i dont know why huckleberry always has to be a little cheap tasting, like it almost never tastes like the real fruit, and i mean that not just for beer but also for everything that claims to use it, like syrups and jams and things, like only real huckleberries taste like huckleberries, go figure. this is sweet, overly fruited, and less beery than i want it to be, like hops and yeast are totally inconsequential here, its only the fruit and the grain, sweet on sweet, simple on simple, and this is oddly and unfortunately one dimensional for what it is. its like a candy or a melted frozen dessert or something, not a beer i can really drink very much of, but not bad either, kind of like, this is decent, but its not for me. i want to fruit to be more natural in here and i want the beer to be drier and more refreshing, but these guys continue to make quality beers overall, and i cant be too harsh, this just isnt my thing...
