Brewed in collaboration with our friends at ALT 104.5, ALTernating Currants is a fruited tart session ale fermented with Philly Sour yeast and conditioned on black currants. This jam is tart, crisp and crushable; carry me home.

Thanks to Roy_Hobbs for this one. Ninja strike during our NBS BIF #15 chaos.
Canned 3/22/22
Absolutely radiant. Ruby tinged garnet in hue. Fluffy white head pounces to the rim of my Teku and slowly settles to a very graceful ring.
Aroma is tart fruit: Currants and muted cranberry. Fruity, tart, with no discernible grain notes.
Flavor is very nice. Tart currant and cranberry, but not overwhelming. Straight forward. Lightly puckering.
Light mouthfeel, slightly acidic on the finish. Low carbonation.
Overall, A pretty nice ride highlighting currants.

Thanks to Roy_Hobbs for this one from his pummeling during NBS BIF #15. 16oz can (dated 3/22/22) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a cloudy dark pink/light purple color with an inch-and-a-half of light pink head that dissipated very quickly and left very light lacing.
Light tartness at the front of the nose, with the fruit being right behind it providing the base. No particular grain or hop aspect noted.
Similar on the tongue, with the fruit being bolder at the front, and the tartness lingering at the back of the palate.
The body was, as expected, light, but maybe a touch more full that seems usual for the style.
Drinkability was good, a pleasant quaff.
Overall, a pretty solid brew, worth a shot if you see it.

Bright, rusty red colored with a finger+ of fizzy pink colored head. Semi-translucent. Aroma is jammy with some earthy funk.
Taste leads with the fruit / jam notes from the currants. It's simple, yet pleasant. Lightly tart with none of the funk I picked up on the nose. Slightly less carbonated than I would have guessed.
Overall it's a good beer. Very easy drinking.

This beer has a beautiful dark red too it, like the red of cranberries. The head actually lingered a little longer than I thought it would but no there isn't much but a ring. Substantially opaque.
I'm not familiar with currents really but I'm guessing they have to taste like cranberries cause that is exactly what this beer smells like. It shows a sweet undertone that accompanies the sourness.
In this case taste definitely follows what I expected from the nose, and I can't help but think cranberries. There is a note from the yeast too hiding there in the background.
Mouthfeel spritzy light and refreshing, it stops just short of mouth puckering sour for me.
