Draft at Cloudy 9. Hazy golden pour, spotty head. Light yeasty aroma. Taste is malty, yeasty, French bread. Taste is sweet, melon , fruity. interesting

my very first sip of beer coming off 34 days without a drink, so it was highly anticipated and even though its not the super unique fermentation driven saison of the old world, it really didnt let me down, the beer rarely does here! its got some haze and some visible body, patchy white head on top from the tap. it smells almost vegetal and green from whatever hops are in here, appealing but kind of strange, and the yeast is something other than or at least more than 3711 french saison, which i was fearing, so thankful this isnt generic, even if its a little strange for the style, another overly american cultured belgian type would have broken me, so this was a treat. its simple but distinctive in taste, i get a lot of pale wheat to it, a little rawness, some minerals, but drier to finish and with more herbal hops than a lot of these have, strange to me, almost a sorachi ace hint but not quite as vibrant or clear. good carbonation, a little green bitterness but also a little malt sweetness hanging on, its fun and fresh, and if they didnt have some others on the menu calling my name i would have had a few of these. its crazy these guys get no love from the local nerds, their beer is good and unique across the board. so glad to be back! also the food here is fire!
