a simple and easy drinking mexican lager. its even lighter and somewhat less flavorful than their howdy pils, just a lot less hops in this one and a lager yeast that seems to have just a tad more character, not quite as clean and out of the way here, but very agreeable beer, nice in warm weather, but perhaps easily overwhelmed by some of the bold food they serve in here. i like the cheap cans, and i like a mexican lager this time of year. this is clean, the malt profile is crackery and crisp, and there is a faint honey note to it, short of floral and sweet, but a neat mellow nuance in the middle. where the howdy beer has a citrusy hoppy finish, this one has just the balancing bitterness without the flavor of the hops, a touch corny at the end too, not sure if there is corn in this or not, but it has that hint at the end and in the feel too, which is insanely light, carbonated like a seltzer water, and gone almost instantly. i think these guys have a great competency with lagers, and while i like the howdy beer a little better, i think this is really solid for what it is too, super drinkable and hits the spot on a hot day!
