Variant of Comrade with coffee and vanilla.

We age our Comrade Russian Imperial Stout in whiskey barrels for a mellow richness, blending the best from the malts and the barrel.
Then we added hand roasted coffee and Mexican vanilla. Lets Toast to a long and healthy friendship.

22oz bottle poured into snulip.
Appearance: black body with thin cap of bone white head that drops down to ring around glass.
Smell: Whiskey, oak, and cola with a hint of vanilla. No coffee.
Taste: Whiskey and oaky notes. The base beer taste like cola. Hint of vanilla. Again no coffee just like the nose.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with low carbonation. Thin body. Not really booze, but something is off putting about feel of the beer. Not getting any off flavors like green apples that would suggest an infection in the beer, but I would still say that a possibility.
Overall: This was just okay. This is my second barrel aged beer from Zumbier. Won't be buying anymore. A rather forgettable barrel aged adjuncted stout. Something is definitely off with this beer.
