Had on draft, as well as from a bomber--similar experience from both. Pours thick, black, and opaque. I can't say this is a traditional roggenbier, but many of Books & Brews' experiments are wildly over the top and unrateable to style. That rule applies even more firmly when discussing their "Shia Lebrew"-themed series. Putting that aside, this is a really tasty beer. Reminiscent of a Central Waters BBA Stout, but with the addition of a bit more smoke. Sweet and moderately fruity up front, with Belgian-inspired banana esters, yeasty biscuit, and fudgesicles. Very clean, short finish that brings you back for more.

Described as "BBA smoked imperial roggenporter." Deep Brown in color. Smoky, great barrel-aged flavor. The high alcohol is definitely present. Will have many of these.
