While ales are fermented for relatively short periods of time at room temperature, lagers employ a special variety of yeast and much cooler fermentation temperatures to achieve their truly clean, dry flavour profile. Our Lion's Gate Lager has a light body, a very crisp palate and a soft, hop finish, which is imparted by the exquisitely gentle Czech Saaz hop variety. The Lions would approve.

tastes like fresh lightly toasted bread, no alcohol taste, very neutral. My favourite lager so far by a large margin. something about this reminds me of alkaline water.

Just right, smooth without aftertaste. Have tried lots of beer, this is the one I was looking for.
Good with or without food. Great sipping watching sports.

16oz can (coded J010) poured into a 16oz tulip. Poured a hazy pale yellow color with over an inch of white head that had very low retention and no lacing.
The aroma was that of basic "beer": light grain and malt with very soft hops. pretty much the same on the tongue, with just a touch of bitterness near the back end.
The body was medium-light, smooth, and had a semi-sweet finish. Drinkability was good, an easy quaffer. Overall, a pleasant little brew. Worth a shot if you see it.

I tried every beer in Vancouver and this beer is the best value. You can get kegs for 120 dollars at the brewery in Burnaby. Beats buying blue ribbon or some cheap beer for the same price. It is typical Vancouver beer nothing special.. but good value.
I tried the lager at p49 but my lines get all sticky so i prefer this one.

Had a pint on draught from Steamworks itself. Really clean feel with a sweet(ish) breadt finish. Really nice

I am transcribing this from notes that I took last summer. Poured on-tap at the Steamworks Brewing Pub in Vancouver, BC, it was served in a pint glass. This beer is a bright, vibrant gold coloring with lots of bubbling. Light, short layer of big bubbled, airy head. The smell is toasted and malty. Flavors of toasted oats and slightly sour, musty characteristics. My wife took a sip, scowled, and said "Bud" and left it at that. There is a musty, slightly sour aftertaste with a sharp, crisp finish. Not overly wonderful by any means.

Gaztown location. Saaz hops. A little lace. Some perfume aroma. Buttery, caramel, apple juice and above-average carbonation.Light colour and tiny head. Some astringency right through. So-so lager and one of the weaker ones of an otherwise acceptable lineup.

A - Clear straw with a decent head/lacing, especially for style.
S - Sweetish aroma with a crisp, light hop nose.
T - Slightly tart with a mild bitterness and malt.
M - Light bodied with a medium carbonation. Not crazy fizzy like a lot of light lagers.
D - Not bad at all, given the norm for the style. Just an above average, well made pale lager for the masses. Delivers a bit more than expected, with nothing off.

I found this beer to be quite drinkable with a full body. The style is a tip of the truckers cap to the Molson drinkers but really this is half decent. I prefer this to the poorly finished IPA. A decent take on what is really an average style. Drink the Pils though as it is their best beer,
