December 19th, 2017 - Blue Spruce's ESB might be one of their finest offerings. Clear, and without a head, it arrives poured to the brim, looking quenching and filling at the same time. The nose has a clear and distinct malty scent with identifying marks of toffee, wet tree bark and a distinctive nuttiness. The flavor is on the drier side of the spectrum, with more of the aroma's nuttier quality and a touch of woodiness, though light and dry there too. The palate is soft and chalky, and coasts into a long aftertaste with a mild and trailing bitterness.
