Picked up a 6 pack of this towards the end of last summer. Was good to see this brewery picking out some more popular styles to package that will hopefully keep the lights on. Pours a hazy yellow with 1/4" white head. Has a nice mild for the hop Mosaic and Citra combo, don't go looking for it to burst like it does in the upper echelon of beers that use that combo, they cut it heavily with Magnum I think. Its a nice mild stone fruit and tropical dank that is relatively restrained compared to some hop bombs.
The Magnum bittering hop gives the beer a similar to Torpedo like bitterness that pushes the beer away from a softer side back into like a hybrid of ipa styles. I can dig it. Its real easy to drink, its got a varied hop attack, the haziness is more akin to unfiltered all barley instead of a lot of flaked oats and wheat stuff. Maybe that is present here too, but seems like it is in a lesser way, this comes across as more of a dirty beer with west coast hopping but not exactly the dry body.

Thanks, Chad and Bill!
Was grateful for pulling in this, along with 16 others, from Chad and Bill on a recent work trip to Reno, Nev. Had only tried one of their beers before, giving Magpie Coffee Brown a 4.25 on Untappd on Nov. 11, 2016. Can description read, “Unfiltered IPA brewed with Magnum, Citra and Mosaic hops that delivers a tropical fruit and crushed citrus punch.” Semi-familiar with Magnum, but obviously a big fan of Citra and Mosaic.
Poured a hazy, light amber color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy white head. Could see a few bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. World-class foamy, spiderweb lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled Mosaic, stone fruit, orange rind, floral, orange blossom, tangerine, mango, pine, pineapple, Citra, lemon and grapefruit. From the can got Citra, lemon, mango and pineapple. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted at least as good as the nose. Got Mosaic, floral, stone fruit, Citra, mango, pineapple, orange rind, pine, tangerine, red grapefruit and citrus zest. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Really liked this overall. Was back and forth on the smell and taste, and may have underrated it overall. (Overall - 4.00)
