650 mL bottle from the brewery served well-chilled and reviewed on my phone. Described as a Cucumber Lime Pilsner.
Pours a turbid, pale straw yellow colour, with one finger of loose, soapy white head that swiftly fades to a bare surface. Citrusy lime zest on the nose, with some grainy pale malts and green, grassy notes. You can't really smell the cucumber, but then again, cucumbers aren't all that fragrant anyhow.
You can definitely taste it, though - and together with the citrusy, zesty lime, the cucumber proves to be a potent (if slightly odd and vegetal) part of the flavour profile. I actually really like it. The pale malts provide some perfunctory background sweetness, while the hops give a grassy and spicy flair to the finish. Aftertaste of cucumber that quickly fades. Light-bodied, with lively carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. A really nice brew, and highly refreshing.
Final Grade: 3.9, a B+. Let's Play Jenga Before We Break Up might sound like a bizarre concoction at first - but I must admit, the cucumber and lime are perfect complements for each other. Certainly not your typical pilsener, but that should be amply evident from the beer's name alone. One of their best one-offs of 2016, for sure.
