Opaque muddy pink with a rather minimalist head. Low end nose with just a hint of what you'd expect from a wit and a touch of fruit. Drinks well enough, but not bursting with character. A basic wit with a wee dose of cherry. Slightly dry finish. Drinkable, but not as tasty as some of their other brews.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 14 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy pinkish-amber colour, topped with half an inch of creamy, foamy off-white head. Within two minutes, it has been reduced to a tight collar of suds, with a narrow band of lace also left in its wake. Looks good, but the aroma is rather understated - I'm getting bready wheat, banana and mildly sweet cherry, all of it quite faint.
Tastes more interesting than the nose let on: the cherry fruitiness is prominent, for sure, but there are a few other things going on in the background that give it a more layered flavour profile. Crackery wheat and grainy sweetness, with hints of oily citrus peel, banana and spiciness, presumably coriander. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that briskly agitates the surface of the palate, lending a good bite to the mouthfeel; feels frothy and smooth.
Final Grade: 3.62, a B grade. Side Launch's Cherry Wit is a serviceable take on a Belgian white ale, but at the end of the day I think I'd rather be drinking a regular wit. The added sweetness of the cherry makes this just a tad bit less refreshing than say, a Hoegaarden. Then again, I've never been that big on cherry beer, and this one's still quite tasty, so I wouldn't exactly turn my nose up at another. Worth a try, and something I'll more than likely return to at some point.

Pours a hazy rusty water colour, headless. I don’t get very much in the smell dept. Perhaps a bit of hops. The taste is faint tart cherry, a bit spicy, a bit hoppy but all parts mild. Actually quite nice tasting in my opinion. Mouthfeel is rather flat.
