My beverage center just got these in this week, so I picked up a 4pk because I was curious.
L: Pours a deep brown with a two finger, creamy, tan head that dissipates moderately. Sparing lacing.
S: Smells of freshly roasted coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and maple cream blend together for a pleasant combination on the nose.
T: The flavors follow the nose, yet the maple cream is not dominating and is more of great way to balance the roastiness of this porter. Not too sweet; it actually hit a nice balance of bittersweet that works well.
F: Velvety smooth, creamy, yet lightly carbonated. Medium-light bodied overall.
O: This is a pretty great porter honestly. I would prefer to have it in late winter or early spring, This could also work well on a crisp fall day. I will definitely be revisiting this on colder days.

On tap at Pour Taproom in Buffalo, NY.
This one pours a dark brown, not really black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like sweet, non-high quality maple, milk chocolate, and not much else.
This is watery and generically sweet – I don’t know what maple was used here, but it doesn’t feel rich or complex at all – it just feels like a melted fast food milkshake, with Aunt Jemima’s, and lots of water.
This is very thin, too lactose heavy, kind of stale, and not super drinkable.
I didn’t expect much from this – Raquette River is not exactly a heavy hitter in our state here.

Had on tap. Pours murky, chestnut in color one quarter inch head. Taste is maple, cream, and roasted malt. Medium body, moderate carbonation, roasty. I want more maple but this is good. Makes for a fine brown ale with a touch of maple.

From RR’s website: “ Raquette River Brewing’s Maple Cream Porter is brewed with 5 gallons of maple syrup from The Wild Centers Tupper Tappers! Medium bodied porter with a lush mouthfeel and a sweet touch of maple.” Sweet and creamy (contains lactose) but seemed quite thin in both taste and feel.
