my first beer from these guys, on the nitro tap at tamarack taproom. it pours a gorgeous fluffy and creamy matte near black color and holds the nitro head awhile. its roasty and dry, and has strong coffee suggestions to it, really desirable morning beer after a big night, and the first few sips really satisfy my. its creamy feeling and fuller bodied but dry and soft, i get an irish dry stout malt and yeast complexion, and a light chocolate note as well, really nice. the problem though, as that it can hold this course through the entire pint. instead, as soon as the nitrogen all dissipates out of it, it becomes thin, still, and even a little metallic to me. the nuttiness and roasty characteristics i liked to much early on seem well faded, and there is a sweetness here now that really slows me down. im not sure if i just drank the beer too slow and a faster drink through this would have kept me loving it, but its like the tale of two beers, the first half was brilliant, the second half was average at best. did others have this experience? hard to judge or score a beer like this, so i am sticking with the more positive part of this...
