This is a collaboration between 3 Sons Brewing and Weldwerks. Together, the duo blended Imperial Stout and Barleywine aged for 28 months in Wild Turkey Rare Breed rye whiskey barrels. They then conditioned the mix on 450 lbs of raw coconut, 200 lbs of roasted hazelnuts, 70 lbs of cacao nibs, and 15 lbs of vanilla beans -- one of their largest treatments to date!

Black body with a brown cap. Smells exactly as expected: big adjuncts, the nuts and vanilla just sing atop the chocolate and barrels, with minor roast, fudge and molasses nuances. Taste is much the same, but even more adjunct led, it’s great for a couple of ounces, but the sweetness starts to add up as there isn’t that thick, roasted malt balance. Feel is heavy and thick, but for this series thin and light, haha. Warm and much higher in sugar than roast or toast

Look - Pours a very dark thick looking blackish brown color with a super dark brown head that disappears almost immediately. Has a thin dark lacing when swirled.

Smell - Light notes of coconut, vanilla, and hazelnuts. Smell is mild.

Taste - Oh my, taste is another story. This is an absolutely wonderful coconut stout (or at least I believe it should be classified as a stout) with light hints of bourbon and hazelnut. With a little chocolate and vanilla for good measure. This is the best 3 Sons beer I've tried to date!

Feel - Very creamy, doesn't feel too strong, well done!

Overall - Not much to the nose, but the taste and feel are absolutely wonderful!
