Picked up a 22oz at the brewery last night and it's all I could think about today at work, haha I couldn't wait. Poured into my Sweetwater Brewery snifter. Black color with tan head that fades fairly quickly not retaining very well. As I sip some foam slides down the glass slowly and still doesn't leave much behind. Typical in a sour I think. Smell is deep cognac with cherry in the back end. Taste isn't as boosy as expected from the nose. Just a hint of cognac which is surprising given how strong it is in the scent. Tart fruit of cherry and some grass flavors. Very interesting beer that i wouldn't buy again just because I'm more of an ipa guy but it is good stuff. Does pair well with my barbecue pulled pork though! Cheers!

L: almost black, tan head. Brownish, reddish tones as well
S: cognac alcohol first off, with some brown sugar
T: the fruits really show up in the taste, with tart cherries, plums and a touch of that same sugar that I smelled
F: while not tasting incredibly tart, the feel lasts with some pucker. Full feel for a saison
O: unique beer. Calls itself a saison, but drinks more like a barrel-aged quad. Definitely enjoyable
