Look: It pours light brown with a reddish element that is a bit cloudy. It has an off white head and head retention is medium.

Smell: It has moderately low aromas of raspberries and blackberries. There is a bit of grainy sweetness in the background.

Taste: There are strong raspberry and blackberry flavors with medium tartness. There is a low level of grainy sweetness as well. There is a very low level of cracker.

Feel: It has a medium body with a slight bit of sweetness in the finish.

Overall, a good combination of raspberry and blackberries with the malt.

Sticky fruit puree/fruit syrup imbues this beer with rife artificial flavoring to its obvious detriment. Blackberry comes through, certainly, but its presence isn't comparable to that of the blackberry in Boston Beer Co.'s vastly superior blackberry witbier. Sweet without any balancing hop bitterness.

A drinkable likable berry-forward ale, but don't expect the berry notes to be all that genuine.

Appearance: Rosé color; slightly off-white frothy head that retains well and leaves nice, spotty lacing.

Aroma: it presents to me a wet hay, musty, off-putting aroma, with a bit of pleasant fruit character in the background.

Flavor: Some white bread, some raspberry; very little tartness; not much sweetness. To tell you the truth, it’s very bland, especially for a fruit-flavored beer. (The Cherry Wheat is much better than this in all respects.)

Mouthfeel & finish: pleasant fluffy ale feel with lovely carbonation. Semi-dry and refreshing finish.

Overall: this beer, to me, is not worth the money. It’s bland, poor example of a fruit-flavored beer.

 

Poured out of a 12 oz. bottle into one of my tulip glasses, this beer pours a mostly clear, deep red/amber, copper color with a white head that's half an inch thick when first poured with a few streams of little bubbles fairly rapidly and continuously rising to the beer's surface. Heas eventually settles to a medium sized white ring surrounding the inside of the glass along with some small cluster swirls of surface foam and sparse lacing. Aromas of some bready malts along with the tartness of raspberries and blackberries. A very similar flavor profile, with bready malts and a bit of sour tarness and also the sweetness of raspberries and blackberries. Not really much, if any, discernible hop flavors. Has a mainly crisp, somewhat smooth and frothy, light to medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate to heavy carbonation. Has a clean finish, and the berry flavors really linger on my palate nicely for the aftertaste.

I noticed that I also had a number of fruited Sours & Tarts in abeyance, including a couple that were gifts from my Thursday Night trivia team. I decided to review & rate them & while doing so, I took a pill for my GIRD. I then decided to continue with fruited beers since a) I was wide awake & b) I still had some to run through. This one came from Wegman's during my most recent visit just before the quarantine.

From the Bottle (!): "A light-bodied Ale with notes of bright fruit"; "Brewer[,] Patriot"; "Limited Release"; "Bright & Light"; "This light Ale is aged on Raspberries and Blackberries grown in the Pacific Northwest. The bright fruit notes, refreshingly light body, and striking color and aroma make this the perfect brew for changing things up. [undersigned] Jim Koch Founder & Brewer".

I Pop!ped the cap & started a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I suppose that, given some of the previous beers, I should not have been surprised, but I am a pinhead. It quickly began foaming to form just under two fingers fizzy, foamy, rocky, pinkish (!) head that quickly reduced to wisps. Color was Pinkish-Amber (SRM = N/A) with NE-quality clarity, resembling a Blush or a Rosé! I should have expected all of this, but it was still brand-new. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not terribly far removed from it, either. Taste was a lightly-tart, spritzy mixed berry flavor, like the jelly in those diner packets. It struck me as a beer more suited for a hot, humid Summer day. Finish was semi-dry & quite refreshing. I just wish that the fruit flavor(s) had been a bit more assertive. YMMV.

Rather pretty amber/peach in color with not much of a head. Tastes sweet and malty with some generic fruit taste in it. Basically, this is in easy summer drinker good for someone who is not into hops. I'll save it for those 90+ July days and I expect it will go down great then. Considering that I snagged a 24 mixed pack for $10 it is an absolute win. That being said, I don't think I would seek it out specifically.

I imagine women will like this, who do not like the beer taste, but this is not for a connoisseur. I recommend squeezing a lime in there, to not only improve the taste, but get your vitamins and anti-oxidants also. I have done this with previous Sam Adams fruit beers. Hey James Koch, you did a great job in the 1980's, but now it is up to a younger man to come in and save the company.
This was part of a $10 per 12 pack and that was all it was worth. I wish I had paid a little more and got something a lot better.

Feels like a " high quality " knock off of summer European beers that are totally natural over there. Why it does not rival Erropean brands? Because it also feels like fermenting yeast was eating and shitting high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar.

Poured from a bottle. Pinkish in color with small white head that disappears quickly. Smells of bread, fruit and slight funk. Taste includes bread, raspberry and blackberries, comes together pretty well. Better than I expected

 

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip.

L: Light burgundy gold pour with 2 fingers of foamy pink-tinged head. Modest ring of lacing.

S: Crisp and fruity. Berry and grains.

T.F: Light and crisp. Wheat/grain... very mild raspberry. Not a whole lot in terms of flavor. Light bodied... well carbonated and another hint of raspberry and grains at the finish.

O: Very light... easy drinking... and extremely average. No bad flavors... but not terribly interesting either. I'm honestly not sure why they bothered.

 

Poured from a bottle with a small, white head that dissipated quickly. This was an interesting color, a faintly purple cast to the pale color of the typical light bodied ale. I was hesitant about this one, since I have found fruit flavors in my beer to be hit or miss. This was a very interesting flavor profile, I could definitely tell there were berries involved. and I think my preference for hibiscus tea helped me to enjoy this ale. It almost seemed to have a slightly sour edge, which was nicely refreshing. Definitely enjoyed this, will drink it again.
