From the small can, it pours a hazy light amber color with a nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets some blackberry scent with the lightly spicy malt. The mouth gets a slightly sweet, slightly fruity brew with a slight tartness after.

LOOK: Really clear, so not the cloudy appearance of a Whitbier. Bright gold in color with a white head that stays for a short time before disappearing.
AROMA: Fairly small dose of clove, coriander as well as sweet blackberry and a little maltiness.
TASTE: There is a mix of fruity sweetness and tartness with more of a tart finish.
Not in my wheelhouse and not something I cared for.

Sam brought this one back as a Vintage Brew in their early 2026 sampler pack so I got to try it. I liked it - reviews don't necessarily agree, but I thought it worked. It's definitely fruity and so it might be too sweet for some people, but the base witbier still comes through on the back end once you get past the initial fruit flavor. It's subtle but it's there.

Samuel Adam's relentless reign of mediocrity thunders on. Candy-like and one-dimensionally sweet. Tastes like blackberry, not unpleasant, and it's technically a witbier, so I can't say it's false advertising or anything. So, 3/5.

Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier has a thick, off-white head and a hazy, gold appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of white wheat bread and faint blackberry. It has a similar flavor, with low sweetness and bitterness. Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier has a medium body and a dry finish.
