On tap at Stoneyard Craft Beer Hall and Grill in Webster, NY.
This one pours a very expository red color here- you know from first look that it's gonna be super cherry forward. It's completely clear, with a small head and no lacing.
This is nearly New Glarus levels of fruit in the aroma- it just leaps out of the glass and gives you a cherry shower. It's mostly sweet smelling, but there is a slightly tart undercurrent, and almost a red wine thing, too. This isn't BA, is it?
This beat all of my expectations for sure. Fruited wheat beers aren't my thing, traditionally, but this just flipped it on its head. It's super cherry forward, and direct in that regard- but that's not all that's there, luckily. It's a bit more complex, as there is definitely some sort of red-wine like thing going on in the back end of the beer. I don't think this is barrel-aged, but the cherries did come from a winery Stoneyard likes to work with.
This is lighter bodied, super juicy, and very refreshing.
This was a wonderful surprise.
